Two of the most amazing musical artists that have ever lived, in my opinion, both happen to be named Michael. One, i rant about in every other post..Michael (Mike) Kenji Shinoda. But the other one..needs no intro. he is THE Michael. Michael Jackson. (inside joke here, but what the hell is with me and Michaels? haha)So i just watched "This is it". Absolute must-see for all MJ fans. I think its great for showing audiences the work put into making concerts like these...esp the work Michael Jackson himself puts into his performances. A real perfectionist..but that's something we don't really seem to see in artists today. He knows how to use the tiny and seemingly insignificant things like timing & silence to up the anticipation/value of his performances. And despite not having performed for about 10 years..man..that guy KNOWS his songs. You can just tell that every single person in that film (all those working on the concert) are in absolute awe of them. And why wouldn' they be? Man... what an honour it is to be dancing/playing for him. i can only imagine..I found it interesting that it was a girl and not Slash who plays the guitar for "black and white". From what I heard, MJ uses NO ONE but Slash to play that.BUt can't help feeling proud that it was a GIRL who ROCKED OUT on that one...she was gooood. And trust MJ to take concerts to a higher level...green screens, massive sets on stage, lighting..It was almost as if he was re-creating all his old videos right there on stage, live. One thing that was a little sad though...was watching him dance. You can see that his movements aren't very sharp, and he seems to be uncomfortable/in pain dancing. But that's what old age does to you. And there's all that talk about his health. guess you can't expect him to move around like he used to in those days... I guess dancing next to all his back up dancers does kinda accentuate his lack of strength a bit. but man..when its just him performing on stage, you can just see the awe and respect his back up dancers have for him, cheering their asses off, off-stage.. He is, i'm sure the reason why most of them even started dancing in the first place. I guess i could go on about it, but i shall end with this. I honestly cannot think of anyone on this PLANET who had the effect on the world Michael Jackson had. And all that done through music. Simply amazing. But, with all that shit he went through (shit that he didn't deserve to go through), I'm happy for him that he's in a better place now. R.I.P MJ.

i miss singlish. not the 'lor', 'hor' type that absolutely drives me insane. but like..u know, the random insertion of malay/chinese/tamil words in an english sentence that probably only a person like you (not necessarily any other singaporean) would understand type of singlish?
its weird how one minute i feel like i have more in common with aussies than singaporeans and the next i couldn't feel like any more like a complete foreigner.
and dont get me started on the food.
:(
50 more days until its touchdown on singapore soil.
and i bet in 51 days i'll take all of the above back.
